VTU requires 35% minimum in university end-semester exams (SEE) and 40% aggregate in theory subjects.

ATKT & Carry-Over Progression Guidelines

  • Under CBCS rules, students can progress to 3rd semester carrying a maximum of 4 failed heads from 1st year.
  • Progression to 5th semester requires clearing all 1st year subjects completely.

2021 Scheme uses Percentage = CGPA x 10. The 2015/2017/2018 schemes use Percentage = (CGPA - 0.75) x 10.

  • VTU grade points run S=10, A=9, B=8, C=7, D=6, E=4 and F=0.
  • An F grade contributes zero points while credits still count in denominator.
