About this tool
SPPU awards a class rather than a numeric division, and the bands are closely spaced near the top of the scale. The classifier reports the class for your CGPA, shows the full band table and states how many grade points separate you from the next band.
How it works

Frequently asked questions
What is Higher Second Class?
It is an intermediate band between Second Class and First Class, awarded for a CGPA from 6.25 to 6.74.
Is the class based on percentage or CGPA?
SPPU declares the class on the CGPA. The percentage is a derived figure used mainly on external applications.
Is the class based on percentage or grade point?
SPPU declares the class from the grade point bands, which is why classifying from the CGPA is more reliable than from a converted percentage.
Do backlogs affect the class awarded?
Cleared backlogs do not change the band, but some scholarships and recruiters ask for a first attempt record separately.
