Enter a grade point between 0 and 10.

About this tool

SPPU publishes an official grade to percentage mapping in Circular 332 of 2020. This converter reproduces that slab table exactly, so the percentage you quote on an application matches the one the university would certify on a transcript.

How it works

Using the Circular 332-2020 Percentage Converter in three steps

Every step below reflects the actual calculation this tool runs, so you can check the result by hand if you need to.

  1. 1

Enter the grade point or SGPA that appears on your SPPU result.

  2. 2

The tool selects the equation slab from Circular 332 of 2020 that applies to that band.

  3. 3

The percentage is returned along with the exact slab equation used for the conversion.

Circular 332-2020 slab mapping

Percentage = slab value corresponding to the grade point range defined in Circular 332-2020
  • The mapping is a banded table, not a single linear formula.
  • Use the final CGPA printed on the consolidated marksheet as the input.
  • Different faculties may have separate annexures within the same circular.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just multiply the CGPA by ten?

A linear multiplication does not match the slab table SPPU uses, so the figure would not agree with an official transcript.

Which marksheet value should I enter?

Use the final CGPA or grade point from the consolidated statement rather than a single semester result.

Why are there several equations?

Circular 332 defines different linear equations for the O, A+, A and B+ bands, so the conversion is tiered rather than one single formula.

Which conversion do employers accept?

For results issued under the credit system covered by the circular, the tiered conversion is the university approved figure and can be quoted directly.
