About this tool

MAKAUT requires students to complete Mandatory Additional Requirement activities alongside regular coursework. The tracker records each completed activity, the credit or point value earned and the balance still required before the degree can be awarded.

How it works

Using the MAR Tracker in three steps

Every step below reflects the actual calculation this tool runs, so you can check the result by hand if you need to.

  1. 1

List the mandatory activity entries you have completed with the points assigned to each.

  2. 2

Points are totalled against the MAR requirement for your programme duration.

  3. 3

You see the running total and how many points remain before the activity requirement is satisfied.

MAR completion rule

Outstanding MAR = Required MAR points - Sum of approved activity points
  • MAR activities are approved by the department before points are credited.
  • MAR completion is a prerequisite for the final degree even when academic credits are cleared.
  • Point values differ by activity category, so check the current regulation booklet.

Frequently asked questions

Do MAR points affect my DGPA?

No. MAR is a non credit graded requirement. It does not change the DGPA but it must be completed for the degree.

When should I start recording MAR activities?

From the first semester. Spreading activities across the programme is easier than clearing them in the final year.

Do MAR points affect my SGPA?

No. Mandatory activity points are a non credit graduation requirement, so they do not change SGPA or DGPA but they can hold up your degree.

When should activity points be completed?

Spread them across the programme rather than the final semester, because approval and documentation are processed by the department before the final result.
