About this tool

AKTU converts grade point averages into percentages by multiplying by ten and deducting seven and a half. The calculator applies that official rule to semester and cumulative values alike so the result matches the figure accepted on placement and higher study forms.

How it works

Official AKTU conversion

Percentage = (SGPA x 10) - 7.5
  • The same rule applies to the cumulative CGPA.
  • The deduction is fixed and does not vary by branch.
  • Values that would fall below zero are reported as zero percent.

Frequently asked questions

Why is 7.5 deducted?

The deduction reflects the mapping the university uses between its ten point grade scale and the percentage range, and it is prescribed in the ordinance.

Do recruiters accept this figure?

Yes. It is the conversion AKTU itself certifies, so it is the correct value to quote.

Does the same rule apply to every AKTU batch?

It applies to the credit based grading batches AKTU publishes this rule for. Older percentage based batches already carry marks on the mark sheet.

Should I round the result?

Report the value to two decimals as calculated. Rounding up can conflict with the figure verified from your transcript.
