About this tool
Allowed to Keep Term lets a University of Mumbai student move up a year while carrying failed heads of passing. Engineering colleges judge this on the share of heads cleared in the year, while degree colleges usually allow a fixed number of carried heads. This checker compares your position against the applicable allowance and shows exactly how many heads you may still carry.
How it works

Mumbai University ATKT rule
Engineering: cleared heads >= half of the year heads | Degree faculties: up to four heads carried- A head of passing is a separate result line, so theory, term work, oral and practical each count on their own.
- Carried heads must still be cleared before the degree is awarded.
- Colleges may add a condition on first year heads before final year admission.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly is a head of passing?
It is any component that carries its own pass requirement on the grade sheet. One subject can have a theory head, a term work head and an oral head, which is why the count is higher than the number of subjects.
Does ATKT delay my degree?
Not if you clear the carried heads in the next available examination. The degree is issued only after every head is cleared.
Is the allowance the same in every college?
The university sets the rule, but autonomous colleges publish their own ordinance, so verify against your own examination circular.
What happens if I exceed the allowance?
The year is detained, which means you repeat it rather than moving forward while carrying the heads.
How do I count heads correctly?
Count every separate result line on the grade sheet, not the number of subjects. Theory, term work, oral and practical each count as one head.
Can I appear for carried heads while attending the next year?
Yes. That is the purpose of ATKT. You attend the next year and clear the pending heads in the following examination sessions.
