About this tool

Anna University applies two conditions to a theory subject: the end semester paper must clear its own minimum, and the internal assessment plus end semester marks must reach the aggregate minimum. This predictor checks both heads, tells you whether the subject is recorded as RA, and estimates how many additional end semester marks a revaluation would have to yield before the subject clears.

How it works

Using the Anna University Arrear & Revaluation Predictor in three steps

Every step below reflects the actual calculation this tool runs, so you can check the result by hand if you need to.

  1. 1

Enter the internal assessment out of twenty five and the end semester marks out of seventy five.

  2. 2

The tool checks the end semester minimum and the aggregate minimum separately, because both must be cleared.

  3. 3

If the subject is an arrear, it shows the extra end semester marks a revaluation would need to produce.

Anna University heads of passing

Pass when End Semester >= 34 of 75 and Internal + End Semester >= 50 of 100
  • Internal assessment is out of twenty five and the end semester paper is out of seventy five.
  • Revaluation can change only the end semester script, never the internal mark.
  • A subject that misses either head is printed as RA and must be registered again.

Frequently asked questions

How much can a revaluation realistically add?

Revaluation usually moves a script by a few marks, since it is a recheck of the valuation. If you need more than that, registering the arrear is the safer route.

What is photocopy and challenge valuation?

You can first apply for a photocopy of the answer script, review the valuation and then apply for revaluation if marks appear to have been missed or totalled incorrectly.

Does an arrear affect my CGPA permanently?

The zero grade point lowers your CGPA until the subject is cleared. After the arrear examination the new grade replaces it, though the arrear history stays on the statement.

Do laboratory subjects follow the same minimum?

Laboratory and project courses use their own internal and end semester split published in your regulation, so use this tool for theory subjects.

What if my internal mark is very low?

A low internal mark raises the end semester score you need for the aggregate. The tool shows this directly, and when the requirement exceeds seventy five it flags that reappearing is the only route.

Is there a deadline for revaluation?

Yes. Anna University publishes a short window after each result for photocopy and revaluation applications, so check the Controller of Examinations notice as soon as results appear.
